For those who need their measles vaccination, Forsyth County Department Public Health is offering a drive-up clinic by appointment at 799 Highland Ave., Winston-Salem for measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccines on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m to 5 p.m.

“Forsyth County Department of Public Health recommends everyone should be vaccinated against measles. If you’re unsure if you’re vaccinated, you should follow up with your healthcare provider to determine your vaccination status,” wrote the department in a release.

Cigna, Aetna and Medicaid insurances are accepted. A limited supply of vaccine is available to individuals without insurance. Call 336-703-3300 for an appointment and more information.

The offering comes after the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services announced the first case of measles in the state on June 24. That child was traveling to Forsyth and Guilford counties from a country where measles outbreaks have been recorded.

At the time, the NCDHHS said it was working with the Forsyth and Guilford departments of public health to determine who may have been exposed to the disease.
