CLEMMONS — The Shallow Ford Foundation announced the appointment of Emmy Corn as its new president and CEO.
Corn, who has served as the foundation’s chief operating officer since August 2024, hopes to lead the organization into an exciting new chapter, continuing its mission of connecting community and philanthropy for enduring results in Clemmons, Lewisville, Yadkin County and northern Davidson County.
Corn is a lifelong resident of East Bend with an MBA from Gardner Webb University. She came to the foundation with more than 15 years of experience in finance and banking. Corn has a strong heart for community and has demonstrated this over the years in a number of community leadership roles. She has plenty of experience with the foundation, having served on its board of directors and on various grant and scholarship committees for the past several years.
“We are grateful that Emmy has agreed to serve the foundation in this important role. We are thrilled to have her passion and leadership guiding us into the future. Emmy’s commitment to community is truly inspiring, and we are confident that with her leadership, we will continue to achieve remarkable milestones together,” said Jennifer Johnson, chairman of the Shallow Ford Foundation Board of Directors.
Corn’s transition to president and CEO is a testament to her leadership, dedication and vision for the future of the organization, the foundation noted in a press release.
“As I step into this incredible opportunity, I am filled with both gratitude and excitement. I am sincerely thankful for the trust placed in me, and I look forward to the amazing journey ahead as we all work hand in hand to create a positive impact on the community,” said Corn.
The organization also expressed deep gratitude to outgoing President and CEO Sandi Scannelli. For the past seven years, Sandi’s leadership and commitment has left a lasting mark on the community.
“We are immensely grateful to Sandi for her years of service and we wish her all the best in her retirement. Her commitment to the foundation and our community has been truly remarkable,” said Johnson. “We are equally excited to welcome Emmy to her new role and look forward to continued strong relationships and positive outcomes, driven by Emmy’s vision and the collective efforts of those committed to the work of the foundation.”
