Youth programs

  • Story times: Join for great books, finger plays, songs and crafts for toddlers and preschoolers in the story time room. Story time is on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m., followed by a repeat performance at 10:30 a.m., and on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.
  • Preschool Craft Time: The fun continues on Thursdays after story time as attendees make a craft together at 11:15 a.m.
  • Music and Movement: Join for dancing, singing and shaking out those sillies. Takes place every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.
  • Color Your World with the N.C. Aquarium: On Thursday, July 17, at 5 p.m. explore all the ways animals use color and pattern to navigate their environments. Then see how the aquarium’s ambassador animals use their colors and patterns to hide or warn others to stay far away. For all ages.
  • STEAM Crafts for Kids: Children aged 4 through tweens are invited to do fun (and messy) STEAM activities on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The next session will be on Wednesday, July 23 at 4 p.m.

All ages

  • Chess Club: Fourth Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m. Improve at the game by playing chess with other club members. Beginners and experienced chess players of all ages are welcome. The next meeting will be on July 22.

Adult programs

  • Book Lovers’ Club: First Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Join for a group book discussion each month. On Aug. 4, the group will discuss “Trust” by Hernán Díaz.
  • Clemmons Cookbook Club: Every third Wednesday of the month at 12:30 p.m. Choose a recipe from a pre-selected book in the library and the library will make a copy. Bring in the finished dish on the day of the meeting to share with other members. Must bring a dish to attend. The next meeting will be on Aug. 20, and the theme will be fruits of the harvest.
  • Ukulele Circle: Every third Saturday of the month at 2 p.m. Come listen to lively ukulele music. Performers of all levels are welcomed to participate in the jam session and listeners of all ages are invited to a wonderful musical experience. The next session will be on July 19.
  • Bluegrass Jam Sessions: Second and fourth Monday of the month at 6 p.m. Join in the Clemmons Branch Library auditorium for a jam session. Players of all abilities are welcome. The next session will be on July 28.
