The Clemmons community is invited to an afternoon of captivating music as the Salem Community Orchestra, under the musical direction of Danny Green, takes the stage on Sunday, June 22, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Magnolia Room in Historic Broyhill, 3540 Clemmons Road, Clemmons.
This event is the finale of the 2024–2025 Bingham Arts Series, a program of the Shallow Ford Foundation, generously supported by the Thad and Mary Bingham Community Fund. Thad and Mary loved the Clemmons community and set up a fund with the foundation to help it flourish long after their lifetimes. The Bingham Arts Series reflects the foundation’s and the donors’ desire for philanthropy to further Clemmons area health and vibrancy.
Now in its 40th year, the Salem Community Orchestra unites musicians from across the Winston-Salem area, bringing vibrant performances to audiences of all ages. This year’s concert will feature classic selections including “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Man of La Mancha,” “Polovtsian Dances” and a special rendition of “Finlandia,” conducted by the renowned Peter Perret. As a nostalgic treat, the orchestra will also present a live-scored screening of Walt Disney’s animated classic “Steamboat Willie.”
“This program reflects the joy and diversity of our orchestra,” said Danny Green, music and artistic director. “We’re excited to bring together timeless classics and something truly unique with ‘Steamboat Willie.’ It’s a concert that will entertain and inspire all generations.”
Admission is free, and all are welcome. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that parking is limited at Historic Broyhill, and carpooling is encouraged.
