West Forsyth has seven players, three coaches among all-conference announcement

West Forsyth just completed its spring-sports season, which included a number of conference championships. And with championships comes awards, and that is the case for the Titans.  

The Central Piedmont 4-A conference just released the all-conference results for all the teams in the nine sports played and sanctioned by the NCHSAA.  

West Forsyth had seven players of the year — Sydney Horton (Player of the Year) and Morgan Maxwell (Pitcher of the Year) for softball, Tatum Snow (Offensive Player of the Year) for girls lacrosse, and Laila Jones (Girls Field Athlete of the Year) in girls track and field, Greyson Jones (Pitcher of the Year) in baseball, Connor Williams (Player of the Year) in boys golf and Sean Cooper (Player of the Year) in boys tennis.

Also, West Forsyth had three coaches of the year — Kevin McIntosh in baseball, Debra Troxell in boys golf and Sara Cranford in boys tennis. 

In addition to Jones and McIntosh, the Titans’ baseball team, who finished 23-5 overall and 14-0 in the conference, had five other players — William Holden IV, Parker Trexler, Lucas Alderman, Luis Acevedo, Mason Ridings, and Landon Church — make all-conference.

Also in baseball, Brady Marshall, Asa Coplin, Jackson Roche and Sam Rice from Reagan made all-conference

In softball, other than Horton and Maxwell from West Forsyth, which finished 26-3 overall and 14-0 in the conference, Madisen Barringer, Lilliana Parker, McKinley Wall and Timia Sales also made all-conference. Reagan had five players — Bailey Huff, Caycee Wilson, Rylee Wilson, Savannah Gornto, and Lilah Clayman — make all-conference.

The West Forsyth boys tennis team finished 13-3 overall and 11-1 in the conference. In addition to Cooper being named Player of the Year and Cranford being named Coach of the Year, John Howell and Noah Trenchard of West Forsyth were named all-conference.

Reagan’s Bradyn Neal, Nikhil Kriplani and Harrison Wright also made it. 

In boys golf, West Forsyth won the conference championship and had Kevin Zhang, Aiden Koontz, and Max Duncan also make all-conference in addition to Williams being named Player of the Year and Troxell being named Coach of the Year.

Reagan’s Connor Lynde and Landon Packard made it. 

The West Forsyth girls lacrosse team also won the conference championship after going 21-6 overall and 12-0 in the conference. In addition to Snow being named Offensive Player of the Year, West Forsyth had five other players — Brighde Mullen, Gaby Vestal, Kayleigh Mutkus, Sara Gurley and Isa Gil — make all-conference.

Reagan’s Chloe Harris, Ruby Morales, Dottie Dixon, Keagan Hettenbach, Sienna Johnson, Nola Simpkins and Mallori Martin were selected.

Steve Keaton of Reagan was named Coach of the Year for girls lacrosse.  

The West Forsyth girls soccer team also won the conference championship after finishing 16-5-1 overall and 13-1 in the conference. In doing so, the team had seven players make all-conference in Aislynn Maguire, Hannah Hanes, Reese Williams, Natalie Kerth, Ella Fergus, Leigha Curry and Allie Ramseur.

Mikayla Nicks of Reagan was also selected. 

After going winless last year, the West Forsyth boys lacrosse team bounced back and finished this season 12-10 overall and 5-7 in the conference. Cole Tisdale and Grayson Brandon from West Forsyth were named all-conference.

Reagan’s Adam Eckenroth, Jackson Ingram, and Paxton Irwin made it as well.

In addition to Jones winning Field Athlete of the Year in girls track and field in the shot put and discus, Hope Newsome from West Forsyth was named all-conference in the girls triple jump; Noelle Childs made it in the pole vault; and the West Forsyth girls 3,200-meter relay team of Dempsey Baldini, Lily Baugh, Celia Tonidanel and Kate Malinowski also made all-conference. 

Also, in girls track and field, Reagan’s Ashley Casas and Gigi Simon made all-conference in the high jump, and in the long jump, Jakayla Jackson from Reagan made it. In the triple jump, Green-Dubose made it other than Newsome. 

Other than the 3,200-meter relay team from West Forsyth, Reagan’s team of Zoe Simmons, Kate Henderson, Lily Hayes and Meghan Eidelman made it. In the 100-meter dash, Reagan’s Carmealla Marino and Marie Ingram made it. In the girls 1600, Henderson from Reagan made it.

In the 400, Marino from Reagan was selected. In the 800, Hayes from Reagan was selected. In the 200, Marley Ingram of Reagan made it. And in the 4×400 relay, the Reagan team of Jacobs, Henderson, Eidelman, and Clara Strickland made it. 

Richard Burton from Reagan was named the girls Coach of the Year in track and field, and Burton was named co-Coach of the Year in boys track and field with Christopher Page from Mount Tabor. 

In boys track and field, West Forsyth had nobody make all-conference. However, Djibril Fall of Reagan was named boys Field Athlete of the Year and Tate Shore of Reagan was named boys Distance Runner of the Year.

In boys events, Fall from Reagan made it in the long jump and the triple jump.

In the 1600, Shore from Reagan made it and in the 4×100 relay Reagan’s Kamari Carter, Antonio Kelly, Carson Bowman, and Cameron Simmons made it.

In the 300 hurdles, Johnson from Reagan was selected and Shore from Reagan made it in the 800. In the 3200, Jackson Farmer from Reagan was selected, and in the 4×400 relay, Reagan’s Johnson, Scotty Howerton, Dominic George and Anotidashe Muchena made it.
