CLEMMONS — One of the village of Clemmons’s premier events is beginning this weekend, as the Clemmons Farmers Market officially kicks off on Saturday.
This Saturday will mark the 11th year of the farmers market, which is held weekly from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Jerry Long Family YMCA, 1150 S. Peace Haven Road, Clemmons. The farmers market is located in the front parking lot on most Saturdays and in the open field at the intersection of South Peace Haven Road and Jessie Village Drive when YMCA youth sports are happening.
“The village of Clemmons is committed to providing a venue for the Clemmons Farmers Market where local farmers, producers and bakers provide a variety of products directly to the community. The market inspires open communication between growers and consumers, promotes eating fresh and buying local, and provides a wide variety of nutritional food choices,” wrote the village in a press release.
With more than 60 registered vendors, the market offers a wide range of products including but not limited to fresh baked goods, candies, kettle corn, pickles, sauces, jams, jellies, fresh flowers, soaps, lotions, sustainable livestock, plants and a harvest of fresh produce each Saturday. The Clemmons Farmers Market is a producer/maker-only market, meaning farmers, growers, artisans and bakers only sell items they make, bake or grow themselves.
Free parking is available at the YMCA and OrthoCarolina. For more information, email the village of Clemmons Event Coordinator and Farmers Market Manager Lynette Fox at lfox@clemmons.org, or call 336-766-7511 with any questions.
