Lewisville Historical Society features Emmy-winning TV writer
The Lewisville Historical Society has invited the public to its May 12 membership meeting at the Mary Alice Warren Community Center, 7632 Warren Park Drive, Lewisville.
The meeting will include a program by Emmy-winning “Our State” PBS television writer and narrator Brian Faulkner who will describe some of the homes featured in the PBS Carolina series and reflect on his 60 years living in North Carolina, with more than 40 coming in Lewisville.
The title of the presentation will be “Home – A Sense of Place.” The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. The event is co-sponsored by the Lewisville Historical Society and the Lewisville Branch Library. Anyone interested should call 336-766-5842 for more information.
Final installation in Shallowford Series Concert set
Shallowford Presbyterian Church will present the final installation of the 2025 Shallowford Series Concert on Sunday at 3 p.m.
Members of the Triad Early Music Society (TEMS), a group of regional musicians who play music from the 14th through the 17th centuries using recorders, percussion, string and other early music instruments, will perform music of the Renaissance, Baroque and Classical periods as well as selections of folk and contemporary music. TEMS is a chapter of the American Recorder Society.
The concert is free to the public with an opportunity for donations in support of the concert series and will be followed by light refreshments.
