CLEMMONS — Each year during Lent, Clemmons Presbyterian Church joins with thousands of Presbyterian congregations across the country in receiving the One Great Hour of Sharing offering. This offering is the single, most significant way that Presbyterians come together to share God’s love with neighbors in need around the world. 

Clemmons Presbyterian has financially supported special offerings within the Presbyterian Church (USA) consecutively for the last 25 years. Of the 166 Presbyteries, less than 25 have one church that was able to accomplish this; Salem Presbytery has two, Springwood and Clemmons. Of the roughly 8,600 PC (USA) churches in the United States, only 49 churches hold this designation.

On March 30, a special banner was presented to CPC by the Office of Ministry Engagement and Support from the PC(USA) denominational office.

Gifts to One Great Hour of Sharing support vital ministries of the Presbyterian Church (USA):

• Presbyterian Disaster Assistance — Responding quickly to natural and human-caused disasters, both in the U.S. and internationally, to help communities rebuild and recover.

• Presbyterian Hunger Program — Working to alleviate hunger and eliminate its root causes through sustainable development and advocacy.

• Self-Development of People — Partnering with communities experiencing oppression, poverty, and injustice to support their efforts to create lasting change.

Together, these ministries address some of the most pressing needs in our world, providing relief, hope and dignity in the face of hardship.
