Following a busy third quarter, the Titans have been enjoying their week-long spring break before heading into the last quarter of the school year. This time of year tends to leave many students restless and looking forward to summer vacation, but the time away from school allows for a bit of rest and productivity that will make them motivated once more.
Many Titans use their spring break as a chance to put the textbooks aside and focus on spending time with the people important to them. Having a break from school gives students time to catch up and have fun with their families and friends before heading back to campus and finishing the year strong.
“I’m spending break mostly hanging out with family currently. I like having time off to catch up on work or chores and I like having time to relax and enjoy my hobbies. I also love being able to chat and hang out more with friends,” said senior Katherine Ezell.
Spring break is always a highly anticipated break as it gives students a period of time to spend the way that they want to, whether it be by making new memories while traveling or by relaxing at home.
“I’m spending my spring break with the people most important to me: my family. We’re taking a trip to New York City to see some Broadway musicals, sightsee and try out some really good restaurants. I always enjoy any time that I have off of school as it gives me the necessary time to relax and reset so I’m always functioning at 100 percent. Especially with our second semester having very little breaks compared to the first, spring break was a very needed break for me,” said senior Garrin Reiter.
This week off in March is often the last bit of momentum that students need to push through to the end of the school year, especially the seniors who look forward to their graduation and the beginning of their fresh start in college.
“I am spending my spring break hanging out with friends and enjoying my time at the beach. I like the time off school because the work overload has gotten a little stressful and senioritis has been hitting hard. I am happy to have a week without having to worry about homework,” said senior Gwen Spear.
It’s never too early to get ahead of spring cleaning. Some students enjoy straightening up their space and spending time doing housework as a productive way to reset before school is back in session.
“I’m spending my spring break with friends and deep cleaning the house. I enjoy the time off because I can really focus on relaxing tasks for me,” sophomore Aiden Wright said.
Others are using the time off to their advantage, increasing their financial earnings by working as much as possible. As many students begin to save money for important expenses such as a car or college funds, working becomes less of a task and more of an opportunity to reach their goals.
“I’m going to work because I get to make more money when I don’t have to go to school. I’m able to be at my job at 11 o’clock each day instead of being at school, and I work different times than I usually do,” said senior Zoey Krause.
Considering the various ways that the Titans are spending their time to recharge during spring break, the students nearly guarantee an exciting and successful wrap up of the school year once fourth quarter begins.
