CLEMMONS — Don’t miss an opportunity to support local artists at the upcoming “Juried Community Art Show & Sale,” presented by the Shallow Ford Foundation in partnership with the Muddy River Art Association. The event is part of the Bingham Arts Series, a program of the Shallow Ford Foundation underwritten by the Thad and Mary Bingham Community Fund.
The art show reception and sale will be held Sunday, March 16, from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Historic Broyhill in Clemmons.
Explore an impressive collection of over 60 pieces showcasing various mediums including painting, pastel, drawing, sculpture, pottery, fiber, wood and mixed media. Fifteen artist sale tables are available to purchase unique pieces directly from some of the participating artists.
The show will be judged by Kimberly Varnadoe, an artist and curator with over three decades of experience evaluating artwork across various mediums. With her expertise, the foundation anticipates an exceptional award presentation, according to a release from the Shallow Ford Foundation.
“It is my sincere pleasure to curate the collection of art for this exhibition. The works submitted demonstrate a passion for color, craftsmanship and expression on many levels. It is my goal to showcase works that represent a wide range of artistic styles and techniques, as well as raise awareness about the exceptional talent we have in our community. I am grateful for this opportunity,” said Varnadoe.
The event will feature awards for first, second and third place, along with four honorable mentions. Additionally, attendees can look forward to voting for a People’s Choice Award. There will also be a Shallow Ford Foundation Board of Directors Choice Award and a Muddy River Art Association Choice Award.
This event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 3 p.m. Voting for the People’s Choice Award ends at 4:30 p.m. and all awards will be announced at 5 p.m. For more information, visit shallowfordfoundation.org/arts or contact the Shallow Ford Foundation at 336-663-6794.
