Clemmons man killed in Davidson County crash

CLEMMONS — A 74-year-old Clemmons man is dead after North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers say he crashed into a UPS delivery truck in Davidson County on Monday.
Roy Clinton Brewer Jr. from Clemmons died after the crash, which occurred at approximately 10:43 a.m. on Gus Hill Road, located at the northwestern edge of Davidson County, according to a release from the Highway Patrol.
Brewer, driving a blue Ford Explorer, was traveling south along Gus Hill Road when he crossed the centerline of the road and collided with a UPS delivery truck stopped in the northbound travel lane, according to the release.
Brewer was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the UPS truck was reportedly taken to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Highway Patrol stated in the release that no charges will be filed in relation to the crash.
During the investigation, Gus Hill Road was closed at the location of the crash for approximately two hours.
