Appreciating Clemmons’ local heroes

I wanted to acknowledge my sincere appreciation to the Clemmons Fire Department.

My street runs downhill and the water seems to collect over time where I have six Leyland cypress trees. I noticed the roots have been showing a little bit over the last couple of weeks. The ground has been really saturated with all the rain lately and on Sunday with the high-winds the trees began to sway and really start moving.

I called several emergency tree services that were all busy. I called the Clemmons Fire Department to tell them about my situation and while on the phone, a really big wind gust took the trees and in a domino effect these 40-foot Leyland cypress trees fell all at once.

The fire department came within five to eight minutes as all the trees were now in the road. Adam Berry and Chris Messick went to work immediately and over the next two hours removed all the debris out of the road making it safe once again for pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

They went above and beyond, and I just thought it was important that I mention how much appreciation I have for these local heroes.
