Friday's Internet Edition, July 30, 2010. West YMCA welcomes new executive director Tim O'Connell is the new head of the West Forsyth Family YMCA. By Dwight Sparks - Tim O’Connell assumed the post as executive director of the West Forsyth Family YMCA on Monday, April 9 in a hectic day filled with lots of rushing around and introductions. “It’s been great,” he said at 4 p.m., still a long way from quitting time. He still had a meeting with the Partners With Youth Campaign on his agenda, which is 84 percent of its way to a goal of $160,000 to pay membership dues for children who can’t afford the Y dues. “I came on a good day,” O’Connell said. Lots of people were registering for spring programs. O’Connell has been at the Raleigh YMCA organization for 16 years, most recently at the A.E. Fenley Y in North Raleigh.
