Mrs. Doris Evelyn Henderson Hamby, 80, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County to the late Charles Adam and Lillie Belle Smith Henderson. She was of the Baptist faith and was very active as owner of Hamby’ s Painting and Decorating for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Sydney Hamby; and her son, Lennie Gray Greer. Mrs. Hamby is survived by two daughters, Dollie G. Greer of Winston-Salem and Mitzi G. Tesh of Arcadia; two sons, Donny Greer and wife, Kathy of Lewisville and Ricky Greer and wife, Vivian of Winston-Salem; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sylvia Deal of Winston-Salem. A Graveside Funeral Service was held Friday, March 20, 2009 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Doris Hamby Funeral Fund c/o Mitzi G. Tesh, 592 Circle Dr., Lexington, NC 27295. Ima Jean “Red” Cline Sprinkle Ms. Ima Jean “Red” Cline Sprinkle, 74, of Lewisville, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born October 10, 1934 in Forsyth County to Hugh Wilburn and Virginia Della Freeman Cline. Mrs. Sprinkle retired from Bell South with 37 ½ years of service. She is survived by two brothers, Gray Cline and wife, Candy of Clemmons and Donald Cline and wife, Betty of Winston-Salem; a nephew, Jeff Cline and wife, Judy, also of Winston-Salem; and several people dear to her, including Pam Deadwyler, Mark Newman and Lisa Queen. A Graveside Service for Mrs. Sprinkle will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Eileen Millicent West Wall Eileen Millicent West Wall passed from us into a better place on Tuesday, March 17, 2009. She was born in Davie County on February 20, 1920, the daughter of Buford Henry and Bernice Dixon West. Mrs. Wall spent her early years in Davie County, graduating from Farmington High School, before preparing for her life’ s vocation as a beautician. Eileen met and married John Ray “Bill” Wall, also a Davie County native, but the early part of their marriage was interrupted for three years while Bill served his country in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during WWII. During the war years and for the first couple of years after Bill returned from service, Eileen worked with an aunt as a beautician. In 1948, she opened the first beauty shop in Clemmons, known as Clemmons Beauty Shop, which she operated for over 50 years, retiring only after her health began to fail her. During those years, Eileen made countless friends in the Clemmons community. Mrs. Wall was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill, to whom she was married for 53 years at the time of his death in 1991; and her three brothers, Wayne West, Wilbur West and Lawrence West. She is survived by two daughters, Glenda (Leslie Sr.) Frye and Denise (Steve) Bassen, all of Clemmons; two grandchildren, Leslie (Glenda) Frye, Jr. of Clemmons and F. Lee (Lavon) Frye of Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia; three great-grandchildren, Leslie “Trey” Frye III, Logan Michelle Frye and Faron Gabrielle Frye; a sister, Ruth Lee of Davie County; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Also left behind to mourn the passing of Eileen are many friends, former customers, and her church family at Clemmons First Baptist Church, which she attended faithfully for over 60 years. Before her health began to decline, Mrs. Wall was active in the church choir and also taught Sunday School. A Funeral Service celebrating the life of Mrs. Wall was held on Friday, March 20, at the Frank Vogler & Sons Clemmons Chapel with Chaplain Craig Walker officiating. Interment followed in the Westlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. The family wishes to thank the staffs of The Elms at Tanglewood, Bermuda Commons, and Clemmons Nursing and Rehabilitation, as well as Hospice, for the care they provided to Mrs. Wall during the past two years. The family requests that memorials be made in Mrs. Wall’ s name to Hospice of Forsyth County or to the Music Ministry of Clemmons First Baptist Church. Beulah Kepley Jolly Mrs. Beulah Kepley Jolly, 83, of Clemmons passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County on May 22, 1925 to the late Lee and Eliza Krites Kepley. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and also attended Union Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Jim Jolly; her parents; two sisters and one brother. She is survived by a daughter, Linda J. Owen and husband JD of Winston-Salem; two sons, Jimmy L. Jolly and wife Brenda of Lexington and Roger A. Jolly and wife Gayle of Rural Hall; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. A service was conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Union Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. Memorial maybe made to American Caner Society 900 S Hawthorne Road Winston-Salem NC 27103. Mattie W. Jaehning Mattie W. Jaehning was taken from us on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 11:36 a.m. Mattie was born on November 2, 1931 in Wyo, NC and was a truly eloquent, distinguished, southern lady. She showed those qualities everyday of her life. Mattie was a nurse and raised her family in North Dakota for 27 years, though she yearned to return to NC. She then resided in Bermuda Run, NC for 30 years. Mattie will be dearly missed by her companion of 20 years, G.I. Will; her sons, Mark of Aurora, CO and Greg of Wahpeton, ND; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a vast number of friends from Key West to Wahpeton. Memorial Services in NC and ND will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mattie’ s memory may be made to the charity of one’ s choice. Peter Warren Coker Peter Warren Coker, amazing husband, father and friend to many, died at home on Wednesday, March 11, 2009. Peter had been a traveler for many years, and had made a home in Winston-Salem with his wife and daughter. He had a passion for electronics, as well as the outdoors, and spent many long days working on both. Peter loved his family and his friends knew they could depend on him. Peter leaves his love and hope behind with his wife, Anastasia Smith Coker; his beloved daughter, Elana-Rose Sophia; and a second baby due in September. He is also survived by his parents, Mark and Laura Coker of Winston-Salem; two grandmothers in Texas, Mary Evelyn Coker and Charlene Groves; and many other loved aunts, uncles and cousins across the country. A Memorial Service is to be held in his honor at 2 p.m., April 1, 2009 at River Oaks Community Church in Clemmons.
